Marketing Is Like Phone Sex: Remember To Use Your Words

I don’t like to complain about the work others do; especially when it’s the kind of work I do. I think it looks like a cheap sales pitch. But recent work/events have prompted me to jot down some quick thoughts. So while I do create graphics, websites and blogs, phone sex profiles and listings, please don’t read this quick set of notes as a “pick me” sales pitch. Read this to learn. Read this so you can think critically about what you need to do, or what you need to consider if you hire someone to do these things for you. (As always, I prefer to “teach you to fish,” even if I do end up creating things for you!)

Here’s today’s lesson: I do not recommend relying solely on graphics for your phone sex operator pages.

Here I am not referring to inserting photos or other images; I mean graphics which have text “printed” on them — mistakenly serving as the text. Like this:

girl_six__phone_sex_movie_poster

While this movie poster for Spike Lee’s Girl 6 (which is about being a PSO!) looks like a nice marketing piece, it is not well-suited for the Internet.

Many people think sort of “fancy” image-based look allows for more “flair,” or even provides a more “professional” look. We do, after all, continue to hear how powerful images are in marketing, especially in social media. But relying so completely on images does not work well for either search engines or actual human beings. Let’s not forget that the entire point of search engines is to help humans find what they want. Let’s not forget that the goal here is to have actual human beings find you, then pay to speak with you.

You can argue all you want about how effective search engines are. You can complain (rightly so) that search engines censor adult things. The whole concept of SEO can give you a headache. But if you want to be found, be it on Google or even within the phone sex platform site itself (which has its own search engine), you need to use your words — and in text format.

That’s text; not words laid on top of a photo or other image.

Text is the stuff in this post that surrounds that phone sex movie poster. It’s the stuff you can highlight, copy, and paste. (But don’t publish it anywhere else, as that’s in violation of my copyright; this is just a tip in recognizing what text really is.)

See how on this graphic used to illustrate how such graphics (often sold as “listing themes”) that you cannot cut & paste the text?

Being unable to cut & paste the text means the words are not really text at all.

Text in your pages, those on your website as well as individual phone sex listings, is really, really, really important.

Don’t believe me? Trust Rand Fishkin and the Moz Staff:

Images, Flash files, Java applets, and other non-text content are often ignored or devalued by search engine crawlers, despite advances in crawling technology.

Even with the improvements in (and increased use of) image searches, Google et al. uses text, actual words, to assist in this process. Heck, human beings use text when they start a search, right? Right.

So use your words, and use them in text format.

The other problems with such image or graphic based pages are:

* Often such graphic-based pages are created in such a complicated way that it will be difficult for you to edit as you wish. Case in point: A client just spent $300 to have me break down another designer’s code so that she could simply update her site with new photographs of herself! This may be great for the designer who gets to bill a client every time she wants a change, but it doesn’t do much for your self-sufficiency — or bottom line! (Again, why I prefer to teach you to fish!)

* If there’s a problem with a server, image host, etc., there is literally nothing on your page. Not. A. Thing. Except, perhaps, those broken image icons. How professional or fancy is that?

* And there are those humans who have problems reading the words on graphics. This includes those who are blind or otherwise visually impaired who use screen reading software that translates page contents into synthetic speech. Typically, such software relies on use of the “alt image tags” — but I’ve yet to see a designer take the time to transcribe all the words artfully placed on an image in such a tag. (Heck, many do not even use the tags at all! Especially silly to miss, as search engines use them as well.) You may not feel that folks with visual impairments make up a huge part of the phone sex market; but phone sex is certainly more desirable for many than watching camgirls or porn.

Additionally, many older folks may need larger text due to declining vision. While these folks typically have enlarged the font size on their browser’s settings, this does not help with images or graphics. And, in fact, enlarging the size of the graphics themselves may render the words blurry or otherwise even more difficult to read. (Additional tip for the day: In case you haven’t yet booked your consult session with me, you likely have not heard me preach about how older men are a prime target market. You do not want to alienate these potential callers!)

Can you afford to turn all these people away simply by relying so much on images?

Please, consider these things when creating your sites, pages, listings, etc. Even if you don’t do the work yourself, discuss this with your adult web designer. Make sure they are producing work that is beneficial for you and your phone sex business.

Call For Interviews: Phone Sex Operators With Disabilities

I’ve been contacted by a reporter for an online publication (with a million monthly readers) who is interested in doing a news story about people with disabilities working as phone sex operators. He is looking to interview PSOs who have physical or mental disabilities for this article.

Because I not only have excellent oral skills, but have rather astonishing auditory skills which help me read between both spoken and unspoken lines, I talked with the writer on the telephone. My own interview assessment, and some research, assures me of the following:

  • He & his publication are legitimate
  • This author’s intent is to be respectful regarding disability issues.
  • This author is sex positive, sensitive to sex workers issues; this will not be a sex worker bashing piece.
  • He will not out anyone by real name or professional name without consent.

I know many of you have or have had some physical or mental health issues, however temporary, and therefore have entered this industry because of the flexibility it offers in terms of scheduling, the benefits of no transportation needed, comfort of working from home, etc.. But I also know many of you do not wish to make your personal health situation(s) public, or to out your phone sex character(s) as having any health issues. Which is why your ability to take part as an anonymous source is so important.

Yet, unless you are willing to share and make public your professional phone sex operator name, this interview is not exactly a promotional opportunity for your phone sex business. (Note: If you are already out about your phone sex work and disability, by all means, use this press to promote yourself!)

However, it is important to note that even as an anonymous source, this is a chance to educate others and to promote sex work in a positive manner. I think this is very important, not only to perhaps help those with disabilities to discover that they can create economic safety and security for themselves via phone sex work, but for the public at large to learn that sex work is work — and respectable work at that.

Interviews can be on the phone, via Skype, or via email, depending upon your needs.

If you are interested in sharing your story, please email me directly at PhonSexSecrets@gmail.com putting “PSOs with Disabilities” in the subject line (I thank you in advance for the courtesy of doing that — it helps me keep on top of things!) and I will put interview candidates in touch with the reporter.

While there is no immediate deadline, obviously the sooner you make contact the better.

Affordable Advertising Opportunity For Phone Sex Operators

harlot mediaA few weeks ago, I retweeted a tweet from Harlot Media regarding their launch advertising at their fabulous digital magazine. Since advertising at intelligent, well trafficked sites can be difficult to find for those of us in the PSO business — and because Harlot deserves to be supported — I am sharing the information on their advertising options.

(And, yes, I will be advertising there soon myself.)

Currently we’re looking at 3 types of advertising- a text link, which will be on our sidebar with a label like “What We’re Into”, a vertical banner ad (you provide the art, we’ll provide dimensions) that’ll be on our sidebar, and an advertorial/sponsored content piece, which will be about 700 words either interviewing you or about a topic that will include links to your work!

Pricing:

Text Link: This will live on the sidebar of Harlot.Media. You will be able to change the url/text of your link at any time during the length of your ad, subject to our Articles of Harlotry.

One Week- $10
One Month- $30
Six Months- $45

Banner Ad: This will live on the sidebar of Harlot.Media. You will be able to change the url/art of your banner at any time during the length of your ad, subject to our Articles of Harlotry.

150×150- $25 per month
250×150- $50 per month
250×350- $100 per month

We can totally work out a deal if you want to buy multiple months, just let me know!

Advertorial/Sponsored Content: Perhaps you want a blog post focused on a particular topic that relates to your site as a way of bringing attention to it? Maybe you’d like an interview highlighting a new hashtag you’ve created? This might be a good option for you! One of our staff writers will write the post with your input. There will be a link to your site/product at the beginning and at the end of the post acknowledging your sponsorship, and no other links to other sites except ours and yours.

$150 for a 700 word piece

Please let me know what you’d be interested in! We’re likely to be raising these rates after a couple months but definitely want to prioritize POC, queer, and other marginalized business owners or companies that serve these underrepresented markets. If you start advertising with us now, you will lock down that rate for as long as you pay it monthly/weekly.

These rates will be posted, likely on Monday, at http://harlot.media/advertising; but as I have several (exciting!) posts to make in the next few days, I am sharing now.

UPDATE: Advertising page at Harlot is here: http://harlot.media/advertise-with-us

UPDATE: You may contact Harlot Media here, or email at harlot.ads (AT) gmail (DOT) com.

PS If you were looking for some basic info on advertising (and affiliate programs), I’ve received permission to sell Deanna Dahlsad‘s whitepaper on that over at NiteFlirt. (Since her mainstream MPS site is one of those negatively impacted by MPS’s latest debacle, I made arrangements for you to still find it!) Dahlsad also runs Blog Tours, including for adult services/sites.

Part Two Of The Exclusive SinCats Phone Sex Site Interview

Continuing the Sin Cats interview with Mary Bennet. (Bennet is in charge of Social Media Marketing and Promotions as well as a Support Rep for Affiliates and Partners at SinCats.) In the first part, we covered the basic overview of the new phone sex site (which also allows camgirls, indie clip makers, and more).

features_sincats

Included in this post are some screenshots that Mary has provided. They demonstrate the various features that are available to performers, via their admin panel. As always, click to see larger versions.

Now we get into more detail about the new site…

What are the fees for this site, both for callers & operators?

Our website is free for both callers and operators.

Why do we offer our services for FREE and allow customer and operators the ability to use our platform and keep 100% of the profits? There are a few ways that we make money — after all, it is a needed to keep the site running.

We make money via the following options:

1. We offer paid ad space. This is displayed on the left side of our website and the costs are very reasonable. Companies or individuals that wish to display a paid advertisement can contact us for details and their ad will appear on every webpage located on the left sidebar.

2. We offer upgrade options. All accounts are 100% free and include access to everything you need to succeed as an independent performer. However, you can upgrade your account by ordering highlighted listings, featured listings, your own domain name and WP blog, newsletter feature, unlimited friend requests and friend accepts, unlimited call codes, promotional services, and higher ranking (upgraded paid accounts are listed above all free accounts).

Can you give me some ballpark price ranges on such things as advertising, etc.?

We have two ad placement zones and our pricing is based on our traffic. As our traffic is low at the moment, we are not promoting our ads zones; however within the next couple months they will be available.

Ad zone 1: This is a 250 width by 150 height static ad placement that appears on the left side of all pages (except the performer profile pages). You can see an example of this on our home page at www.sincats.com listed under the ‘new performers’ sidebar widget. We display a total of 6 ads on the sidebar and they currently sell for $95/month. (*This price is subject to change by the end of this year.) We do not rotate ad spots, so once they are full we cannot accept new advertisers until a new spot becomes available.

As zone 2: This is a 120 width by 60 height static ad placement that appears on all free performer profile pages.  Paid performers have ‘ad free’ profiles. We display a total of 6 ads on all free performer profile pages and they currently sell for $50/month. (*This price is subject to change by the end of this year.) As with the left sidebar ads, we do not rotate ad spots, so once they are full we cannot accept new advertisers until a new spot becomes available.

When you say, “Paid performers have ‘ad free’ profiles,” you mean those who pay for the upgraded accounts, at the $9.95 per month, correct?

Yes. All initial registrations by default are free and therefore subject to display ads within the free profile. However, upon upgrading, the ads instantly disappear. This is another benefit to having a premium or upgraded account on SinCats.

A fully upgraded account on SinCats costs $9.95/month. You can upgrade at anytime from your admin section and the changes occur instantly.

Callers also have similar features when they upgrade their acccount. Callers can register for free and gain access to virtually every feature on our website. However there are some limitations; free customers cannot create jobs (we have a job board that displays recent job postings), free customers have limitations on the amount of messages they can send/receive and the amount of call codes they can use.  Also the customer’s status is listed as ‘free’ and this is displayed on the customer’s profile page.

However, none of these upgrades are needed to use our platform — or make serious money as a performer. Money that you don’t need to wait for, money that is received in the manner that you wish to receive it: Direct to you from the customer.

sin cats performer profile optionsSpeaking of money, I see that operators are allowed to use Amazon and the like as payment; aren’t you concerned about the issues involved here, namely that some of those options are either not merchant accounts &/or have expressly forbidden adult content/business?

We have a wide range of options that operators can choose from when accepting payment from a customer. It is important to note that we do not accept payment on behalf of the customer. Instead the payment goes directly from the customer to the performer.

Also there is no direct correlation between the chosen payment method and adult services. Amazon Wish Lists have been used for years as a way to receive items in exchange for services.

There are so many ways to receive payment that do not include the risk involved in a direct merchant account: Account Now, Cash, Money Order, Phone Card, Western Union, Chase, Dwolla, NetSpend, Ritani, Wish Pot, Bitcoin, Check, Money Gram, Zappos, and trade (or other).

The option to accept payment by ‘trade’ could mean that a customer has a particular skill set that you need and are willing to provide your services in exchange for that skillset. This might mean website design, website development, paying for an ad placement to promote the performer’s profile on high traffic phone sex websites, legal assistance, etc.

Adult merchant accounts are a good option and this is why we have listed credit card as one of the possible choices. There are many performers that have their own adult merchant account and can use this account to process customer’s credit cards. However for the average (and especially new performer), merchant accounts are not an option that is easy to obtain.

Here’s some of the reasons why…

Merchant accounts are risky. Did you know that a customer can order services online, then at any time within 3 – 6 months that customer can contact his bank and report the transaction as fraud? Even if the transaction was 100% valid and you have records (IP address, email, phone number, etc.) chances are you will still lose that sale. In addition to that you will be charged a $35.00 fee for every chargeback that is filed. You may make $5,000.00 in one month, then lose $7,500.00 the next month due to chargebacks. And any performer that has worked in this industry using their own merchant account knows that the banks always side with the customer and chargeback disputes are virtually impossible to win. Virtually all pay per minute phone sex and webcam sites have an issue with this and often have to adjust the performer’s payment based on the chargeback. It is not the fault of the company, but rather the difficult position that banks place ‘high risk’ adult companies in regards to chargebacks.

Merchant accounts are expensive. An adult merchant account will cost you $1,000 a year for Visa and MasterCard registration. You also need to show proof of a valid business license and business address. In addition to their there are tons of small fees (transaction fees, gateway fees, etc).

Also if you process credit cards on your own website you are required to be PCI compliant. This means that you have to provide all of the nessacry means to protect the customer’s credit card details. If there is a breach and this information is exposed you can be fined over $100,000. If you think it is easy to secure this data think about Target and how they were recently hacked and thousands of customer’s credit card details were exposed.

An alternative…

In comparison, let’s consider that you use an alternative payment option. For example Bitcoin. You open a merchant Bitcoin account (it is free on most websites and easy to setup). You then provide the customer with a Bitcoin payment link to order your services. Once the payment is completed you will receive a notification and you can proceed to provide your services knowing that this money will not be charged back and you will receive virtually 100% of it as Bitcoin charges very little processing fees.

Or perhaps you think a little more outside the box and offer your services in exchange for minutes added to your pre-paid phone. Often performers use a pre-paid phone as this provides a layer of anonymity and security. In this scenario you provide the customer with a link to the pre-paid card you require to load your phone. The customer purchases the card, sends you the code and you can add the minutes instantly to your account. No risk of chargeback.

Another scenario might be that you need more traffic in order to bring in more customers and sales. You can offer the customer an option to pay for ad placement in exchange for services. There are tons or reputable services that offer this, including Juicyads, PhoneSexCentral, etc. [See here & here.] Once the ad is live, you can proceed to engage with the customer and provide your services as agreed.

Once you start to consider all of the possibilities it can be rather exciting. There are so many ways to receive payment and remove risk of chargebacks and payment delays.

Are there any verification requirements? Specifically, do you verify legal adult age/status? Are operators required to be verified in any way?

All participants on our network are required to be 18 years or older. We do require verification on a case-by-case basis. If we believe that a performer may be underage we flag the account (suspending public listing) and send a message to require proper documentation.

We have been counseled on this through our legal services and work closely with our attorney to ensure that all practices are legal. Since performers on our network do not work for us, but instead use our platform to network and promote themselves, we are not obligated to require age verification for every account. We are required to police our network and ensure that all content is legal, and we do this 24/7.

For those of you familiar with PhoneSexCentral (which is a major phone sex listing website) you will know that you can create an account and promote your website without the need to send in sensitive details such as a photo ID, social security card, banking account information, etc. Our website works in a similar manner, however it has far more advanced social networking features and is based on recent technology.

I believe you are using CCBill for the upgraded account, correct? If so, this would provide adult verification, yes?

We use Epoch and CCBill. Epoch provides an excellent direct mode payment gateway and a slightly higher success rate of payment. CCBill is used as a fall-back processor. However both provide age verification.

We are also considering additional measures to prevent minors from gaining access to our website. Monitoring site activity and relying on community support are also tools that we will use in our efforts to prevent unauthorized access.

Of the 200+ members, do you know what percent are operators, what percent are callers/buyers?

The ration is about 50/50 at the moment. We are trying to promote the site to both account types so that the member base (customer and performers) grow at a steady and natural level.

Thanks, Mary. I myself am going to create a performer account & play around a bit… Likely, much more to come on this new option in phone sex & cam promotion called Sincats.

The Exclusive Sin Cats Interview (Part 1)

sin-cats sincats phonesex cam dirty talkSin Cats is a relatively new phone sex site. It’s not truly a platform site, which means it is neither collecting payments nor taking a cut of transactions, but it is far more than a marketing or advertising opportunity as it does offer the option to safely and anonymously connect calls and chat. Intrigued, I sat down to discuss with Mary Bennet, who is in charge of Social Media Marketing and Promotions for Sin Cats. Here, in this first part of my interview, Bennet gives us an overview of the new site. (In part two, we get down into the real nitty-gritty – so stay tuned!)

Hi Mary, please give us a general company/site overview.

Sin Cats is an adult network in which people from all over the world can make friends, connect, send messages, share images, videos, voice files and have fun. Our website is new (launched officially on July, 11 2015). However, prior to this we had been in the adult industry for over 12 years, and have experience in membership sites, webcam, phone sex, web design, hosting and social networking. We spent approximately 6 months in the development stage before launching Sin Cats.

Our website is an open platform for adults that wish to promote themselves and network with others. This does not simply relate to phone sex, but includes webcam, media sales (pictures, videos, audio), modeling and even professional services such as content writing, website promotion, website design, etc.

Currently our staff consists of two full-time developers, a marketing director, and two customer service reps.

Open registration is now taking place and we are working with several websites to find talented entertainers that wish to create a profile on our website.

What is the main goal of Sin Cats?

Our goal is not to compete with existing pay per minute platforms, but to provide an alternative venue where adult performers can promote themselves and even work independently, if they wish.

Sin Cats is not a phone sex service in the traditional since. In reviewing this industry we determined that there were several well-established phone sex companies and to create a new one would be redundant. Therefore, we created a truly unique alternative that gives performers the option to work independently or promote their call buttons and links from existing services.

Unlike most platforms, we allow performers to be independent. This means that they can speak directly to the customers, work-out alternate payment options, and even use various forms of communication (including Skype, Google Voice, etc.).

We also have an amazing user-to-user call system that includes audio/video and text chat. However, it is not required that you use our call system. We have included a screenshot on this at the bottom of this interview.

sin_cats_example_profile_pageHere is a list of things you can do on Sin Cats:

1. Give your private email address to customers.

2. Use and post your own billing methods (Amazon Wish Lists, Dwolla, Netspend, Phone Card, etc.). Basically any method you wish to use to transfer funds directly from the customer to you is accepatble.

3. Post or sell your IM contact details (Skype, AIM, etc).

4. Sell pictures and charge customers directly and in any format you wish.

5. Sell videos and charge customers directly and in any format you wish.

6. Sell audio files and charge customers directly and in any format you wish.

7. Post FREE call codes and display them publicly on our call code board (this will get you tons of new customers)

8. Contact customers off-site through any means that is acceptable to both you and the customer (phone, email, Skype, etc.)

9. Use our website for adult dating. (Yes, you can actually hook-up with customers if you want — please note that this can be dangerous and therefore you need to use precaution!)

10. Post payment options to other pay per minute platforms. If you have accounts on other websites and wish for customers to pay and connect with you through those sites you can post call button codes, links etc.

11. Give your private phone number to customers. We have a user-to-user call system option that provides completely secure and anonymous connections from anywhere in the world; however, if you want to give a client your private phone number you are welcome to do so.

12. Text customers from your phone.

13. Use our website for adult networking beyond traditional phone sex and webcam. This includes modeling, content writing, website design, website services (development, adverts, etc).

You can do practically ANYTHING you want on Sin Cats (as long as it is legal of course).

Our goal is to help provide a vibrant and open platform for adult performers to network, make money, and ultimately have far more choices then what is currently available on existing pay per minute phone sites.

We have heard terrible stories of PSOs not receiving payment, losing money from chargebacks, losing 50% (or more of their earnings due to website fees), getting kicked off of a website for sharing off-site contact information, etc. We believe that there needs to be a site that caters to adult performers that wish to be independent, or at least have an additional option from the traditional pay per minute website.

Just to be absolutely clear, operators allowed a profile page or blog space which allows them to link to their own websites, social media, profiles at phone sex sites, etc. right?

Yes! In fact we have included a wide range of amazing features. Each operator has their own profile page, search terms, blog (and blog RSS feed), friend section (to send and receive friend requests), sidebar friend widget that displays who is online and a quick ‘send message’ option), image gallery, video section, audio creation section, media library (where images, videos and audio files can be uploaded, stored and sent to users via email or embedded), private inbox, newsletter system and more.

Sorry if that was a run-on sentence, it’s just that we have so much that is included in the operator section that it is hard to fit into one sentence.

Operators are also free to promote their own websites, call buttons, social media and profile links to other phone sex sites, as you can see in this example profile page (image on the left side of this post).

As mentioned, part two of this Sin Cats interview will be published tomorrow!

Ad Rate Increase A-Comin’!

If you follow me on Twitter, then you know that I will be increasing the price for advertising at the Phone Sex Tumblr on February 1, 2016. Traffic is up, and now that the Tumblr posts (as well as the Twitter phone sex promo account tweets) also go out on the Rebel Mouse Phone Sex Page, there is even more exposure.

If you want to get in on the current prices, go here and buy now. You may purchase up to three months out to get the savings now; otherwise, you’ll be paying the increased rate on February first.

The Key To Attracting More Male Callers May Lie In Dating Study Info

A recent study, An Experimental Study of Men’s and Women’s Personal Ads, took a look at what characteristics women and men appear to be looking for in their partners by placing fake personal ads online and studying the results. The complete study must be paid for to be read, but Justin Lehmiller, PhD, breaks it down in an article for Playboy:

Specifically, four ads were posted under the women seeking men (WSM) section, while another four ads were posted under the men seeking women (MSW) section. Each ad ran for two weeks. The ads were very similar in nature, but each emphasized a different personal trait.

The WSM ads varied in terms of whether the woman described was slim and attractive, sensual and passionate, or successful and ambitious. The fourth ad was generic and didn’t mention any of these characteristics.

Since the phone sex industry primarily banks on male callers and clients, I am going to focus on what the research revealed about dating ads placed by (fake) women and the (presumably heterosexual) men who were interested in meeting women.

As expected, the women presented as thin and attractive received significantly more replies from male suitors than women who were described any other way.

Women presented as successful and ambitious received the second highest number of replies. Their response rate was significantly higher than the sensual/passionate and generic ads, which were essentially tied for last. Thus, both good looks and success increased the likelihood of a woman getting a reply.

traits men look for in women

While Lehmiller — and Gracie Passette, where I first found this study — both point to the biological or evolutionary drives behind the to-be-expected “men seeking beautiful women” phenomenon, you can also see how changing cultural norms (or perhaps a defense against “gold diggers”?) indicate a strong positive reaction to successful women as well.

If you’re wondering why I’m mentioning this, it should be fairly obvious: This is about how female phone sex operators can better market themselves to appeal to male callers.

Generally speaking, presumably heterosexual men are attracted to women culturally defined as “attractive.” Your specialty niche market mileage may vary, of course.

But perhaps what is most remarkable is that the dating ads paced in this study were text-only, with no photosThis offers several splendid insights for the marketing savvy PSO.

#1: Men were responding to the words used in the description, not to any photographs provided or images used. This is not to say that had photos been included they would have been overshadowed by the text; I’m sure the photos would speak louder than words. But clearly words do count. And therefore you should be sure to include them in your profiles and listings.

#2: “Success” is sexy. This, according to the study, is true for both men and women. Whether it is high ratings, positive feedback, blog awards, etc., showing off your successful side can only help you in your appeal to phone sex callers.

#3: People have more than one trait. While this study focused on three individual specific traits in order to get clear results, note that the fourth ad was called “generic.” Not only did the generic ad not mention the other three traits, but it was the worst performing ad. So while it was noted that combining beauty with success may have been extremely powerful, you should also beware that trying to be “all things” may leave your ad or services looking generic. Yes, you have more than one facet to set to sparking; but don’t  focus on so many that none stand out.

#4:  Men were responding to how (supposedly) real women were describing themselves. Which leads to something and not touched upon by either Lehmiller, Passette, or the study itself. Were the men responding merely to “attractive physical descriptions” alone, or did the confidence displayed by a woman describing herself as attractive play some role in it? Confidence is sexy! So no matter how you describe yourself, how many facets you display, be confident in describing them and yourself!

Collaborative Phone Sex Operator Opportunties

A consortium of independent phone sex operators is interested in adding select PSOs to their collaborative group and I’ve been contracted to perform the initial screenings. Please read the following and, if interested, contact me via NF. Again, if interested, you must contact me here & use the “send mail” option. No exceptions.

Terms:

+ PSOs will continue to run their own businesses as they have been. Only a minimal recip linking and/or tweeting required.

+ No calls/clients guaranteed; however, absolutely no fees or percentage of calls/sales will be taken.

+ A very limited number of female phone sex operators will be added; likely three to four women.

Requirements:

+ Must be using female PSOs using the NiteFlirt platform and have viable/active listings with favorable ratings & feedback.

+ Ideal candidates would have at least one website which is NF compliant; but we are open to discussion for the right person(s).

+ We are looking for successful, experienced PSOs who, ideally, have been working as an independent PSO for at least a year; full or part time status OK.

+ Specifically looking for those currently working in both the GFE and Femdom niches; but will consider others, especially if they are very specific niches/fetishes.

The summertime slowdown is about to end. In part, as the Peck & Call Girls said, because back to school means more free time for dads.

And it’s not just dads either.

In other words, the temperatures are about to lower — but the phone sex business is about to heat up again!

clueless-about-phone-sex-pssDuring last few weeks or days of summer, here’s a checklist of things you may want to address to make the most of the increasing demands in phone sex services — and before things get too busy:

+ Look over your profile and listing pages with a critical eye. Inspect them for typos, misspellings, and the like, as well as review them in a general sense. Do they need refreshing in terms of wording, photos, or other graphics? Have you changed your services in any way which is not reflected in your listings? With the increased traffic, you want to make sure those extra views convert.

+ Review the terms of service at the platform site(s) you are using; make sure you are in compliance.

+ Now is likely one of those times you may be about to change your work hours. Whether or not you’ve posted your schedule (or otherwise mentioned your general availability), this is the time to note and announce any upcoming changes. Do so via your profile and listing pages, your blog/website, social media, and via direct contact with clients (newsletters, mass mailings, messages, and email).

+ Speaking of schedules, don’t forget to include time for yourself. Building time into your schedule for exercise, plenty of sleep, and other self-care time is needed not only for your health and to manage stress but to provide great customer service.

+ Assess the status and quality of your tech gear. This includes standard gear such as phones and headsets; PC, laptop, tablet; as well as related batteries and chargers, etc.. If you produce your own photo content, your cameras too. Now is absolutely the time to do this as Amazon, eBay, and many other retail outlets have great back to school savings on such things!

+ Similarly, asses the status and quality of your webhost, audio software, apps, etc. Also, if you haven’t yet invested in a domain name, do it now so the search engines etc. can catch up.

+ Increase your promotion activities so that you’ll be right in front of all those hungry, searching eyes. This includes, but is not limited to, blog posts, Tweets, etc. (Tip: If you have successful or great posts on Tumblr or Twitter, repost them for the more exposure in front of the increasing audience.)

+ Work ahead by creating blog posts, Tweets, etc.. Save or schedule them for posting so that when you are busy with callers, your blog and social media accounts remain active and fresh. Don’t forget to include labeling your photos and making graphics!

+ Research advertising options and make a list of your best bets so that, when you have the money to reinvest but are short on time, you quickly know where to go.

Also, while the Fall season ushers in a busy business time, it quickly leads to the holiday season which is even busier (at least in terms of personal and family time). As with the above tip regarding working ahead in blogging, you may also wish to safely prepare Pay to View items, Goodies, store products, etc. That way, you’ll have hot and fresh offerings at the ready.

Prepare now by checking to see if you have enough content; if not, take or procure the photos, create the audio and text files, etc. If you don’t have the money to purchase content right now, research and window shop for what you need so that, as with advertising, you are all set when you do have the funds.

More PSOs Should Be Like Santa

I’ve got a long post about phone sex operators & social media in draft stages, but I just had to note this gem from Stacey Alcorn in 5 Steps to Working a Holiday Party Like Santa — and it was too long for me to tweet!

Santa would never show up at a home and tell the children there what he wants for Christmas. That would be absurd: Santa knows that Christmas is not about him.

Likewise, the networking event you’ll attend is not about you. It’s about everyone else in the room. When you meet people at an event, ask lots of questions about what they do for work, fun and happiness. Inquire how you can help them achieve their dreams.

Whether or not you realize it, blogging, tweeting, messages at phone sex platforms, etc., are not all about you. Yup, even if you’re a femdom talking to clients, this applies.
