Addressing The "Phone" In Phone Sex

Once upon a time, back when I started working as a phone sex operator, you weren’t allowed to use cell phones for calls; there was a “land lines only” rule. The theory was that cell phone signals weren’t reliable enough — at least not to preclude the ability for clients to complain about it, resulting in more customer service work.

Now, however, PSOs and clients use mobile phones, Voice over IP (VoIP), Skype, Google Call, etc. The change in policy and attitude comes not only from the greater stability in the technology, but in the greater popularity of these devices.

First and probably foremost, is the tremendous increase in client use of cell phones and the like. Even though they may only need one hand for masturbation, cell phones and gadgets with headsets and microphones are more comfortable, especially for longer calls. Plus, portable devices mean clients are ever close to their vices; telephone numbers programmed into phones that go everywhere means they are never far away from their favorite trusted dirty companions.

If callers are using and trusting such devices, they cannot “use” complaints about dropped calls — which means PSOs have now been granted the same conveniences.

For PSOs, the benefits of cell phones and other digital communication devices are many. You too have the ability to take calls anywhere, which is especially great for the independent PSO. Most mobile phone carriers offer free minutes for nights and weekends, which certainly keeps your costs low. These gadgets also have calender and alarm options which can remind you of scheduled calls far more effectively than paper reminders. And then there’s all the creature comforts…

A mobile phone isn’t much more ergonomically beneficial than a traditional telephone; a cell phone is a bit lighter, but also hotter — and there are the potential risks of increased forms of some kinds of cancers. However, nearly every cell phone has handsfree options.

Hands-free options for mobile phones, Skype, VoIP, etc. not only means you have both of your hands free to pleasure yourself during calls, but such options and accessories provide simple comforts which cannot be over-emphasized. Even the hours waiting for calls pass much more quickly when you’ve your hands free. You are always prepared for the call, you just needn’t carry a device in your hand. (Maintaining the emotional “available and ready” status is another issue.)

You can grab a cheap pay-as-you-go phone and have a separate phone line for your work very inexpensively. Get a landline handset with Bluetooth enabled (my personal favorite). Or, with cell or mobile phones, a headset — or even with a speakerphone (if you live alone or have the privacy for using that during calls).

With eBay, you can now get great deals on cell phones and Smartphones — even phones for carriers with monthly plans too.

EBay probably has the most smartphone models available anywhere, and at some of the lowest prices too — on new and used phones. Recently, eBay launched an instant sale promotion — offering up instant cash for used iPhones & Android handsets. These offers rival similar trade-in and buy-back programs from Verizon and Best Buy; actually, as seen in the comparison, the instant cash amounts offered by eBay are much higher:

eBay Instant Sale users can now lock in a $200 guaranteed price on any functional iPhone 3GS, Motorola Droid X, HTC Evo 4G and Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant smartphone models. Customers can also receive a minimum of $200 and up to $450 for the AT&T iPhone 4 during the eBay Instant Sale promotion.

This is a huge opportunity for those PSOs (and clients) who are considering the Verizon iPhone, or would just like to upgrade their current phone.

UPDATE 2/19/2016 The EBay offers change, and with indie sellers, some things can be confusing… My last phone upgrade was better with Amazon. And don’t forget my post about batteries!

Wherever you get it, don’t underestimate the importance of features, including those which provide you creature comforts. A PSOs most constant companion is her phone; find one you can spend time with.

I can’t find any PSO jobs available where you can use a mobile! The all seem to require landlines which doesn’t work for me :(
