No Rest For The Wicked: Blogger/Blogspot Censorship

While I was enjoying my vacation…

As you may well know by this time, Google, owner of Blogger/Blogspot, has upped the ante in their dislike prosecution of adult bloggers by changing their adult content policy. Which means if your site or one of your favorite sites has been replaced with a Google 404 error saying, “The requested URL / was not found on this server. That’s all we know.” — well, that’s a lie.

While Phone Sex Secrets has not received any such notifications (nor it is labeled “adult”), in anticipation of worse to come, this blog will be moving. (Something will be here to redirect you, so no worries — I hope! Since I own the domain name PhoneSexSecrets.Info, all ought to go well.) But the tide has turned and I’d rather move now. So should you. While the gettin’s good, as they say.

If you’re using Blogger and are thinking of moving to WordPress.com — don’t. Apparently the wrath there has been even worse than the current state of Blogger. (See also: Phone Sex Operators & Tumblr.)

Now is the time to host your own blog; get your own servers, if you can, or at least know who you are dealing with.

Here are some helpful links (and more info in general on the situation):

Google’s Blogger to delete all ‘adult’ blogs with ads in three days

(Which, as it turns out, wasn’t quite the “all” after all.)

Blogger is leaving adult bloggers out in the cold; what now?

How to Migrate your Blog from Blogger to WordPress

I personally found this the most concise article with directions for switching from Blogger to a self-hosted WordPress blog.

Good luck — and email me if you need help with hosting or moving your blog. I am available, at a price. ;)
